I'm putting down a steel roof. I already have an Ice and water barrier down. I am wondering if I need to elevate the steel on firring strips or is laying it right over the I&W good ( thinking that there might be some condensation under the metal. Thanks Reed

Yes, most metal roofing manufacturers offer training. You can contact the one that manufactures the system you are interested in. The metal roofing installation training would be system specific.

I roof but have never done metal. I am very interested but metal is not yet extremely popular and not much training is available. Not rocket science but much more technical than asphalt. Experience is best teacher but are there any trade schools or training that I can attend???

i would be livid if i purchased a metal roof and i saw one screw, any rubber, or any caulking. caulking will fail, it always does. i am so tired or seeing caulking used when knowledge is needed. as with any roof, if you can see a fastener then so can water. if you caulk it, then your roof is as strong as the caulk and rubber boots that are on it. a correctly installed standing seam roof will have no exposed faseners (not even on caps, rakes, vent flashings, or anywhere ever), and no caulk.
