Solar power is really the only way to go. We all need to do our part to spread the word. It's just about getting the word out that solar and going green takes "just about the same effort".

I live in Florida, and I am wondering how tough these peel 'n stick panels are. I am worried about squirrels, mostly, and whether they could harm these panels. My roof is a gambrel (barn roof) style, the upper portion being only a 3:12 pitch. I love the idea of installing them on a standing seam roof, and am ready to trash my existing (heavy) solar panels. The squirrels have been eating the insulation off the water pipes on that.

Hi,

It was a wonderful post on "Solar Roofing".

Here is an important tip about solar roofing.First thing is that you should be able to make a careful and complete examination of your roof. You have to make sure that it will be able to support the solar panels that you will be using. Analyze the structural integrity of your roof so that there will be no problems once you have made the solar panel installation. Also, if you have plans in building additional roofs for your house, do this first before you set up the whole thing. This will give you greater chance of saving money in the end.
