Zappone Copper Roofing

My Zappone roof leaked. Installed new in 2005, each year the roof would leak. Zappone would suggest a "fix" and each year was worse than the previous year. In 2008 at Zappone's suggestion we replaced the entire ridge system thinking that this was the source of the leaks. Zappone supplied the materials. The winter of 2009 was not a season of extreme weather. Our roof leaked worse than ever. Leaks caused extensive damage to the interior of our home. I sent Zappone a formal Warranty claim in March of 2010, the company never contacted me. I finally after weeks of trying, got through to owner Joe Zappone. He stated that his roofs do not leak and that it must have been installed wrong. He told me that if we pay the costs of flying one of his guys down to inspect the roof and he says it was installed correctly he would "make it good and reimburse you for all of the expenses of flying my guy down there". We did this, the Roofer stated that the roof was indeed installed correctly and now Joe Zappone will not honor his word to me or his Warranty on this roof. I sent another "demand for warranty service" letter in June of 2010 and I never heard from the company. Got through (after many attempts) to Joe Zappone on the phone he gave me his word that he would call me back and he never did. Zappone is now trying to blame the use of Titanium underlayment. We cleared its use with the Zappone sales manager at the time and we were told that it is a superior product to tar paper and good to use under this aluminum roof. Our Zappone roof was a full systemic failure. All pitches leaked, 3/12, 4/12, 6/12 and 8/12 as evidenced by both interior damage to our home and water stains on the roof sheeting (3/4 in plywood) that was installed new in 2005. We removed the Zappone roof this summer and had family come up to help us install a Comp. Roof. We have lost over $24,000.00 on our Zappone roof. Zappone will not contact me and they will not honor the 50 year warranty.
